ISU Debaters Argue Dakota Access Pipeline and Standardized Testing

Top students from ISU’s Speech Communication program will put their skills on display in formal debates in the Campanile Room of the Memorial Union on Tuesday.
Last year, the top debaters argued before a public audience over body cameras for police and funding for NASA. This year, they will argue about the Dakota Access Pipeline and standardized testing in public schools.
The event is sponsored by the Iowa State University speech club and ISU’s speech communication program, which offers courses in public and professional speaking, listening, argumentation, persuasion, gender communication, legal communication, rhetorical criticism, and other areas. The event is free and open to the public.
