Diversity and inclusion workshop for faculty and hiring staff – with the Cornell Interactive Theatre Ensemble

The Cornell Interactive Theatre Ensemble (CITE) programs have the unique ability to take concepts of diversity and inclusion and make them real and personal for participant groups. Interactive theatre and facilitated dialogue from multiple points of view create a climate for participants that builds inclusion, fosters collaboration and gives participants knowledge and tools to bring back to their own work environments. CITE scenarios are multi-dimensional, revealing the dynamics of diversity issues, and also the dynamics of human interaction around those issues. Sessions consist of a scripted scene performance depicting a complex and challenging interaction in a workplace, followed by a Q&A period with actors-in-character, then a facilitated discussion, and the sessions conclude with a presentation of research related to diversity.
This interactive program will be held in the ISU Alumni Center Ballroom, Beach Avenue. Participants can select the morning (9:00 – 11:00) or the afternoon (2:00 – 4:00) session. Arrive early to enjoy pre-workshop refreshments! Pre-registration is required and will be closed when program capacity is reached, so please register soon.

2. Login using your ISU netID and password (top right)
3. Select Course Catalogue from the menu (top left)
4. Scroll to SVPP events
5. Click List Events next to your choice of morning or afternoon session of “ADVANCE workshop with Cornell Interactive Theater Ensemble: Diversity and Inclusion”
6. Select Enroll in the pop-up window – the event will be added to your Menu. Please register by March 15. Space is limited, however, and registration may close earlier.
