Amit Schejter is professor of communication studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he has served as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and as Head of the Department fof Communication Studies. He has also served as president of Oranim College. He holds a visiting professorship at the Bellisario College of Communication of the Pennsylvania State University where he is director of Institute for Information Policy and co-editor of the journal of Information Policy, which he co-founded.
Author or editor of 8 books (the latest being Digital Capabilities: ICT adoption in Marginalized Communities in Israel and the West Bank) and author of over 80 academic publications, his research focuses on the relationship between communication and social justice and on the right to communicate. He is chairperson of the Association for Civil Rights in Israel and of TPRC – Research Conference on Communications, Information and Internet Policy.
