“Nobody Speak: Trials of the Free Press” Viewing and Discussion

Join us for a free showing of the 2017 Netflix documentary Nobody Speak, which was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. The film explores the Hulk Hogan “sex tapes” case against Gawker Media and examines the threat of big money to a free press. Snacks will be provided during the showing. An informal discussion with members of the First Amendment Committee will follow.

Now in its 17th year, Iowa State University’s First Amendment Days is the longest running continual First Amendment celebration at any U.S. university. It’s organized by the First Amendment Committee, which is made up of members from the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication, the Iowa State Daily Media Group and the Leo Mores Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
